Meet the Confidence Booster: Kristin, our Laser Safety Officer

Updated: 4 days ago

There are so many amazing, talented people at The Confidence Bar. In our new "Meet the Confidence Booster" series, you'll get to know more about each practitioner and staff member - and the unique skills they bring to our practice.

How did you get your start in Aesthetics?

I was fortunate enough to be hired to work alongside a Facial Plastic Surgeon/ENT physician early in my nursing career. The practice had a medspa upstairs and a surgical suite which gave me a great opportunity to learn firsthand about the world of aesthetics. I've continued to grow across the various medspas that I've worked at; always learning something new. I truly believe that aesthetics isn't just about looking good - it's about feeling good and confident in who you are. That belief keeps me motivated every day.

What drew you to working at The Confidence Bar?

I've admired Rana for many years - her unwavering commitment to education and delivering personalized care to every patient has always inspired me. The Confidence Bar's core values resonate deeply with me. It's not just about doing things the right way, but doing what's best for each patient, tailoring every treatment to their unique needs and goals.

The moment I walked through the doors, I knew I had found a team that not only shares my values but elevates them to new heights. The professionalism here is unmatched, and yet it's the compassion that truly sets The Confidence Bar apart. It's the perfect balance of expertise and heart. I'm proud to be a part of a team that is continuously at the forefront of what's possible in aesthetics, always striving to deliver outstanding results, and never losing sight of the human connection that makes our work so meaningful.

Share a patient story that had an impact on how you approach patient care.

At a previous medspa, I had a client who came in and told me she had just been diagnosed with breast cancer. She was about to travel abroad for a family reunion and wanted to look and feel her best before starting her treatment. She was on a limited budget due to the high cost of her cancer treatment and had just a few areas she wanted me to work on. I was able to treat her free of charge.

When I told her, she was so overcome with emotion and gratitude that she began to cry. It was a reminder of why I got into aesthetics in the first place - to help people feel good about themselves. Her story reinforced for me the importance of being there for others when they need it the most.

You're The Confidence Bar's Laser Safety Officer! How did you get started with laser treatments, and what responsibilities does that title include?

In my previous medspa, I was the Managing Clinical Director which gave me the opportunity to train and become a certified Laser Safety Officer. Since my license covered not only my own work but also the work of other nurses, it was a natural progression for me to gain this new certification. It was also mandatory for ensuring the safety and proper use of laser equipment.

When The Confidence Bar recently added MOXI and BBL HEROic, I was thrilled that my training could help my fellow practitioners. My responsibilities include maintaining the machines, ensuring that the staff is up-to-date on safety procedures and protocols, and providing training to all our practitioners. At The Confidence Bar, we have instituted a rigorous certification process for all practitioners. I prioritize educating them about the why behind each treatment - so they can, in turn, help their patients make the best possible choices.

You pioneered Weight Loss Management at The Confidence Bar! What piqued your interest in this treatment and how do you tailor it to each patient?

My interest in Weight Loss Management came from seeing how many people were seeking more than just cosmetic solutions. More and more people want holistic, long-term solutions for weight management, not just quick fixes. Rana and I realized we could offer something more comprehensive at The Confidence Bar that combined personalized coaching, nutritional guidance, and supportive treatments that work together to achieve sustainable results.

One of the key components of our approach is the use of medications like GLP-1s and GIP. These medications are not only effective for weight loss, but new studies show they're also beneficial for conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular health, and improving overall metabolic function. That makes the treatment even more impactful as it supports the patient's broader health and well-being.

At the Confidence Bar, we tailor every plan to each individual's specific goals, medical history, and lifestyle. One size does not fit all! Taking these personalized steps ensures the treatment fits seamlessly into their routine and sets them up for long-term success. Our approach is all about sustainable results and empowering patients to make lasting changes that benefit both their appearance and their health.
