MICRO CHANNELING

With minimal downtime, microchanneling can be used to improve dark under-eye circles, correct pigmentation problems, soften fine lines and wrinkles, and diminish pores.
During your microchannel treatment, your provider will carefully select a customized solution which is loaded into the microchannel device's reservoir. The device is then gently pressed against the skin, and fine needles create microchannels for the solution to be absorbed into the skin and evenly distributed. You will not experience any significant discomfort or pain and there will be minimal downtime.

BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT
Do not receive any type of chemical peel 2 weeks prior to or after treatment.
Avoid waxing and/or use of chemical depilatories for 1 week prior to and after the microchanneling treatment. It’s ok to shave immediately before treatment and 48–72 hours after treatment, as long as there is no skin irritation.
Topical prescriptions including but not limited to Retin-A, Renova and Tazorac must not be used for 3 days prior to treatment.
Avoid abrasive scrubs or other exfoliating products 3 days prior to treatment.
You may not be pregnant or breastfeeding while receiving micro channeling.
If you have a history of cold sores, we may recommend prophylactic antiviral therapy in the form of Valtrex® or Acyclovir if your mouth area is being treated. Follow the prescription directions.
You will receive an email from our office just prior to your treatment recapping these pre-treatment instructions.

For your convenience, you'll find street parking available right on Madison St. If you prefer a hassle-free parking experience, you can also use handy apps like 'SpotHero' or 'ParqEx' to secure a spot.

POST TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Avoid washing your face for the first 6 hours post-treatment. You may wash the treated area with a gentle cleanser and apply a hydrator thereafter.
We recommend that you do not apply makeup for 6 hours after the procedure.
Avoid extensive exercise for the first 48 hours.
A sunburn-like effect is normal for 1 day. The treated area may appear pink in color but will resolve in 1-2 hours. The skin may feel tight, dry, swollen, and sensitive to the touch.
Sun exposure must be avoided for at least 24 hours after your treatment (preferably 1-2 weeks). If you know you will get incidental sun exposure--i.e. driving to and from work, walking from your car to the house, etc.,--we recommend wearing a protective hat and full spectrum sunscreen with SPF of 40 or higher.
Do not use exfoliating medications, chemicals, or products on the treated areas for at least 3 weeks.

DAY OF TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
The area to be treated must be clean and free of all lotion, makeup, and sunscreen. Please remove prior to treatment.
Please notify your provider of any tattoos, including cosmetic tattooing, in the vicinity of the treatment area, as tattoos must be avoided.
When you arrive for your microchanneling treatment, please notify the staff of any changes to your medical history, health status, and personal activities that may be relevant to your treatment.
